After six weeks of fundraising, Melbourne community station SYN FM has announced the success of its ‘Keep SYN Alive’ fundraiser campaign.

Donations from the community helped raise more than $60,000, securing SYN’s financial position into 2024.

General Manager Ruby Smith says “I’d like to thank everyone who made a contribution over the course of this fundraiser. Together, you have managed to raise a whopping $60,000, enough to cover our expenses into the future.”

“Thanks to your support, SYN will be able to continue providing a platform for young people across Melbourne, uplifting their voices and creating spaces where they are celebrated for being themselves.”

SYN extended its thanks to the hard work of the volunteers who make the station’s work possible.

SYN volunteers ran a closing ‘Save SYN’ mini festival at the Evelyn Hotel on Sunday, with seven artists and four DJs playing in support of the station’s fundraising efforts.

SYN has also thanked the artists, venue operators, and others who volunteered their time and expertise, as well as the industry professionals, supporters and volunteers who supported the station throughout the campaign.
