Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Adelaide Perth

Sydney:

  • 2GB maintain their power position in the Sydney market. The political cycle can only ensure some more momentum in the coming round but again in Sydney all eyes remain on 2Day FM.
  • Some good news for 2Day with a slight increase 10 plus along with increases in under 24’s but a drop in 25-39’s. All 2Day shifts are up – with only afternoons missing out on that ride. Rove & Sam will be happy to see the needle move up .3 of a share – a 3.3 but still behind station average.
  • KIIS 1065 took a hit this round with smoothfm within striking distance. KIIS took hits in all dayparts.. shedding over a point in breakfast alone.
  • Not so good news either for WSFM – dropping 1.2 points to a 6.9 and dropping down the pack.
  • Triple M down .7 with drops across all day shifts – drops in 40 plus – see how that impacts their guys overall.
  • Ripper round Nova Entertaiment in Sydney – Nova up and smoothFM now number 2 in the market.
  • ABC702 sits nicely in second place in Sydney, meanwhile triple j drops over a point to a 6.7.

Melbourne:

  • It’s daylight between 3AW and any other station – commanding a 16% slice of the market.
  • On the FM band in Melbourne we see a new number 1 with Fox FM taking the lead. Some solid increases in anyone 25-54, good increases across the day and a number 1 drive show with Hamish & Andy.
  • Good news too for Triple M – second place FM. Good increases in the demos and a surge in breakfast – up 1.1 to a 9.5 – the number 1 FM breakfast show.
  • Gold 104.3 pushes back to third place this round. All dayparts down for the station and big touch-up in their heartland of 40-54’s, dropping 4.1 points.
  • Flat result for NE – Nova100 not kicking any real goals 10+. Nova breakfast up a tad but most other shifts are flat. smoothFM is not replicating the success they see in Sydney.
  • The ABC takes second place comfortably ten plus. The ABC saws drops in most key dayparts with Drive flat. Triple j up nearly a full point 10+.
  • SEN flat as the footy season starts to ramp up.

Brisbane:

  • Over a two point margin separates 97.3 from Nova in Brisbane. 97.3 up half a point overall to a 14.3 slice – that is now 11 surveys in a row at Number One. Another standout result for Robin, Terry & Bob – an even 14  but not enough to take out 612 ABC.
  • Nova106.9 up 0.4 to pull a 12.1 for this round. A solid increase in 25-39’s and also up in 18-24’s.
  • Another round where Triple M has taken a stumble ten plus – but where they sit in the male stakes is what matters for them. Most dayparts are down with only Drive holding its ground.
  • Stablemate hit105 is off a touch, down .7 overall. Drops across all dayparts have impacted as well.
  • 4BC had a flat result this round – no real movement for the talk brand with sister station Magic 882 making some improvements ten plus.
  • The ABC can still lay claim being the domiminate news and talk station in Brisbane. While equal with hit105 at number three – the ABC is the number breakfast show for the market. Spencer Howson increased his lead by a half a point to a 15.1

Adelaide:

  • It’s Nova91.9’s day in Adelaide – taking the lead from the ABC, who now drops to third place.
  • The massive result Triple M had survey #2 being equal number with Nova has gone this round with them coming in fourth ten plus.
  • In breakfast, it’s a win for FIVEaa as the number 1 commercial station (second all stations) but it is ABC891 that leads the market overall with a 16.1 share, with Mix102.3 third in breakfast.
  • Drive see’s Nova take the prize with hit107 second.

Perth:

  • Survey #3 sees the return of Mix94.5 to the top. While a little tighter in 25-39’s, it comes home in 40-54’s and 50 plus to take the lead. While up a point Mix still trails Nova and the ABC in breakfast.
  • For Nova Perth celebrations a plenty with another win in breakfast for Nathan, Nat and Shaun.
  • A flat ten plus result for hit92.9. Breakfast down a bit along with some of their other dayparts.
  • For 96FM up a touch, which ARN will gladly accept after a rough few books – the dust appears to have finally settled and they can lay a path for growth.
  • ABC720 had a flat ten plus result for survey 3 but it is breakfast where they shine.
  • 6PR took a bit of hit, pulling an even 7.
  • 6IX was flat and triple j meanwhile had a ripper round – 11.6 and ranked third overall a mirror of last round.
