Survey #1 2017: Dubbo, NSW results are in

Staff Writer

The first NSW radio survey of the year has been released with the newly rebranded Hit Dubbo (formerly Star FM) leading the way in the region with 24.9 overall listenership.

The big story, however, is the drastic slump of 2DU.

The station’s audience dropped 8 points in the 10+ market to 20.6, with further drops across the board in all but one demographic. This has allowed ZOOFM to close the gap on 2DU, with a jump of 3 points to 17.1.

Hit saw a minimal rise of 1.2 in the Breakfast slot with Jase & Juelz comfortably beating out 2DU’s Richard Perno, who dropped a massive 10.3 points since the last survey.

Nonetheless, Perno came out ahead of ZOOFM’s Matho & Julz with 19.7 and 15.3, respectively.

It was also smooth sailing for Hit in the Drive session. Hamish & Andy continued their dominance with an impressive 31.3, almost tripling 2DU which dropped 3.9 from the last survey.

ABC Western Plains and triple j make up the majority of the remaining listenership in the region, with ABC routinely being favoured by older audiences.
