Support for show name change as Jase & Lauren go global
As the Californian adventure officially begins for Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren – with Jase Hawkins, Lauren Phillips and Clint Stanaway broadcasting live from the Golden State this morning – listeners are considering launching a petition to get Stanaway’s name added to the title of the Breakfast show.
Since Stanaway joined the team in 2021, his exclusion from the show’s title has been a recurring, often amusing topic of debate, both on-air and off.
After almost 25 years at Channel Nine, Stanaway left TV at the end of last year to focus on radio full-time.
Recently on the show, former Nine colleague Tony Jones jokingly said the #1 thing that will stick in his memory was Stanaway asking “Tone, do you reckon they’ll ever put my name on this Breakfast show?”
Even Phillips admitted it’s a bloody good question.
This week sees the brekky trio taking the show on the road across some iconic U.S locations as part of an on-air promotion with Visit California and Qantas.
In today’s show, the team recapped their first day in the City of Angels including a horse ride to the Hollywood sign and a night of karaoke and mechanical bulls.
Plus, Phillips surprised her co-hosts with a visit to her good friend Jimmy Kimmel, who caught up with the team after filming one of his shows.

A happy snap of the trio at the airport departure gates was posted to social media yesterday, prompting some big love for Stanaway … and an interesting wave of questions:
“Why isn’t Clint mentioned? Get Clint’s name in there, he contributes the same amount airtime as Jase & Lauren. C’Mon NOVA”
“Definitely needs Clint’s name in there.”
“Lauren, Jase and Clint!! Add his name for goodness sakes.”
“We need to start a petition, lol.”
“I agree. He is part of the team.”
“Rename to Jase & Lauren with Clint Stanaway.”
“I think respect is due. He’s part of the team.”
What do you think?
That is NOT the Hollywood sign. Haha. It’s A Hollywood sign…
C LI N T
that’s why it’s not written lol
@Ohhhh – that cannot be the reason. The Edge Breakfast with Clint, Meg and Dan seem to be ok with it – are Kiwis just more mature than Aussies and can handle seeing ‘CLINT’ in caps? And if that was the issue, call him ‘Stanners’ – it’s not like he’s never been called that.
This isn’t new for Nova, they did it all those years ago with Hughesy & Kate, and now they will do it in Sydney too with Ricki-Lee & Tim. It’s called futureproofing the branding in case Clint or Sarah ever decide to move back to TV.
