Success for Vegas Rayz, ‘The Band That Brisbane Built’

A special music milestone was cause for celebration KIIS 97.3’s Robin, Terry & Kip breakfast show this week.

Earlier this month Robin, Terry & Kip announced the release of the first single by Vegas Rayz.

Known as The Band That Brisbane Built, Vegas Rayz was formed by the radio station just over 18 months ago, showcasing local Aussie talent.

With the support of Brisbanites and Aussies around the  country, the band has made some serious headway.

Now, the band’s first single, Without Me, has reached over 10,000 streams, across Apple Music and Spotify.

Johnno Keetels from Universal Music noted in an interview with Robin, Terry and Kip, “It is quite mind blowing that young bands can create something of such a global standard for their first track.”

When Robin asked whether Keetels would just say that for the sake of it, he replied “Robin I don’t know if you know how much music I listen to each week!”

Members of the American pop band Hanson were keen to meet Vegas Rayz. Robin, Terry and Kip organised it, with Hanson inviting Vegas Rayz to their concert earlier this week.

Many other iconic Aussie artists around the country have shown their support for the band, including the likes of Killing Heidi, Sheppard Sisters and Samantha Jade.
