Star 102.7 backs mammoth campaign to get Tones and I to FNQ
The power of radio is alive and well in Far North Queensland, with ARN’s Star 102.7 in Cairns jumping on board a spirited campaign to get global superstar Tones and I to perform at a local pub in the tiny rural town of El Arish.
Arriving back home in Australia a few days ago, Tones and I posted to social media, inviting suggestions for a pub to host her next show.

“Tickets $10. I’ll bring the stage if it’s a small town!”
Whichever place goes the hardest, gets the show.
Located on the Cassowary Coast, around 90 minutes south of Cairns, the El Arish Tavern immediately put up its hand.
The near-100 year old pub held its grand reopening just six months ago.

Yesterday morning, Star’s Breakfast team Johnny & Inkie were joined in the studio by the owners of the El Arish, Alex and Tori, who were blown away by the traction the campaign’s been getting.
The story even featured on 9 News, where Alex said “Look, it is a very small town. We’re right in the middle of nowhere. Let’s get here up here and show her how we really party in the north. No-one parties like Far North Queensland.”
Tori said there’s been a groundswell of support on social media:
“The new followers and new people getting around us and getting behind the pub to get her here has just been phenomenal.”
Tones and I will announce the winning pub this Sunday, January 25.
If Tones and I does indeed come to the Tavern, it won’t be the first time Johnny & Inkie have made the road trip to see her, having previously taken a busload of listeners down south in 2023 on the P!nk Party Bus, when Tones and I opened for P!nk.
