Spotify signs The Inspired Unemployed podcast for another season 

Spotify has signed Matt Ford and Jack Steele’s The Inspired Unemployed podcast for another season. 

Launched in 2021, The Inspired Unemployed podcast is known for its weekly dose of banter, chats, and raw conversation. 

The comedians first made their mark on social media with viral videos that earned a following in the millions before trying their hand at podcasting, which has since ranked in the top 5 most popular podcasts on Spotify in Australia.

Now, the duo will launch their third season on October 11.

During the creation of the first two seasons, creators Matt and Jack said they grew to love podcasting. 

“We obviously love trying to make people laugh, but it’s our love for podcasting that has surprised us. We’re that stoked to be getting back into the studio for season three and we’ve got some epic ideas in the works,” Matt and Jack said. 

The pair also revealed some pie-in-the-sky goals they want to achieve with Spotify. 

“We plan to be the first podcast to record an episode from outer space, but until that happens, we’re just gonna focus on trying to become the biggest podcast on earth,” they said.

“We’re equally stoked to be continuing our partnership with Spotify. They’ve been by our side since day one and we couldn’t imagine a better partner to be doing the podcasting life with.”

Spotify’s AUNZ Head of Studios Ben Watts says the feelings are mutual.

“When we started working with Jack and Matt in 2021, it was instantly clear to us that Australia was going to love the on-mic chemistry between these two best mates,” Ben said.

“And we weren’t wrong!”

The third season of The Inspired Unemployed will be available on Spotify from October 11, 2023.
