Special tribute for a passionate community radio advocate

Reporter

Jane Brownrigg was a dedicated community radio volunteer and passionate advocate for the sector.

Jane sadly passed away last year, but the impact she had Melbourne stations and communities continues to inspire and her legacy lives on, with the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) announcing an award named in her honour.

From now on, the Outstanding Volunteer Contribution award will be known as The Jane Brownrigg Award.

CBAA says “People like Jane Brownrigg are the heart of community broadcasting – their generosity, passion and care make our sector a true joy to be part of. If there’s someone like Jane in your community, it’s time to celebrate them.”

All you need is your station manager’s approval to nominate either yourself or a colleague by 6 July. Details here.
