Snow Patrol play Olympics now Oz

Staff Writer

Snow Patrol recently represented Northern Ireland at the Hyde Park Olympic Opening Ceremony Concert. Now they are coming to Australia.

The Take 40 Live Lounge has featured big names like – Adam Lambert,  LMFAO, Jessie J, Panic! At the Disco, Little Red, Washington, Maroon 5, Jason Derulo, Kelly Clarkson and Good Charlotte.

Next up will be Snow Patrol who will play an acoustic show on September 27 to only 300 people.

Frontman Gary Lightbody says…

“I prefer the intimate shows as I love to speak to the crowd. When the crowd is vast you feel it necessary to shout, even though one has a microphone. This does not make for an easy going chat. Saying that; big shows mean big spectacle and big noise. We like that too."

Snow Patrol has sold over 11 million albums and have had some major radio success in Australia with songs like 'You're all I Have', 'Run' and 'Chasing Cars'.

Another big radio song was 'Open Your Eyes'. Here's their performance from the Olympics….
