Slate of Aussie podcasts added to Spotify’s growing catalogue

Omny Studio is enabling Australian podcasters to reach millions of listeners by distributing to popular audio platform Spotify, the company has announced.

Spotify’s partnership with Omny marks the latest in a series of steps carried out by the streaming giant to establish a firm presence in the podcasting space.

AFL Nation, The Slow Home podcast, The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, Thinkergirl and Wilosophy are among the podcasts hosted by Omny that are now available on Spotify, with 300 other shows also added to the platform.

Omny Studio will continue to work with Spotify to expand its entertainment offering with new up-and-coming Australian podcasters.

The news follows Spotify’s decision to promote podcasts in its app and via ads on buses as it attempts to rival Apple in the market.

“There is such fantastic content being made by Australian podcasters at the moment” said Sharon Taylor, CEO of Omny Studio.

“Omny is excited to add such a strong amplification channel to our platform at a time when podcast awareness in Australia is at an all-time high,” she added.
