Skyfire 2025 delivers economic boom for Canberra

Reporter

Skyfire 2025 generated $4,829,206 in gross expenditure to the Canberra region in March, with $1.98M being spent by the nearly 15,000 visitors who came to the ACT to experience the annual event.

That’s according to data released by event owners amplifyCBR, operators of radio stations Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3, from the IER Research study conducted for the event, which measured Skyfire’s economic impact on the region.

This research also found 91.3% of attendees said they were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall event and the way it was delivered.

amplifyCBR General Manager Craig Wagstaff said Skyfire remains a hugely significant event.

“Our stations and our teams at Hit 104.7 and Mix 106.3 sincerely thank the community that continues to support us. The aim has always been for a safe, successful and sustainable event and, in addition to the wonderful night enjoyed by an estimated 120,000 people, the independent research further illustrates the impetus and impact, (both) economically and from a Canberra community spirit perspective.”

“Data indicates that visitors to the event came from interstate AND overseas, injecting nearly $2 million (into the economy).”

He says they now look forward to March next year.

“We remain grateful to the commercial sponsors that make the event possible, along with agencies, support providers and event suppliers, without whom Skyfire simply would not happen.”
