Liam Kilpatrick’s life story is a powerful one.

Having battled with OCD and anxiety, Liam recently found out he has autism.

By Liam’s side, sharing the rollercoaster journey that is life, is his best mate Kirby Heck.

Both quit their full-time jobs to dedicate themselves to making a difference in the mental health space through their Shared Minds podcast.

Raw, honest and unfiltered, Liam shares his personal journey while Kirby provides insights from his perspective as a supportive friend and co-host.

“I started this podcast because I knew what it felt like to struggle in silence,” says Liam.

In a recent episode, titled Starve the OCD Monster, Liam delves into the mindset that helped him manage his OCD and offers listeners practical strategies to cope with mental health challenges.

Liam and Kirby are on a mission to create a safe, supportive space, not just for men, but for people everywhere.

“We’re not experts,” says Kirby. “We’re two best mates trying to make sense of life and mental health, one real conversation at a time.”

“I am so proud of Liam for sharing his story and helping me open up such an important conversation with millions of people across the world.”

“The mental health crisis across Australia is real, and it’s going to take all of us to help come up with real solutions so we don’t lose more people to mental health disorders.”

A diverse range of guests – including TV host Osher Gunsberg – has featured on the podcast, with each episode aiming to break down the stigma around mental health.

Now on Patreon, the podcast has certainly resonated with the community at large, with Liam and Kirby recently featured on the TV news and sent a handwritten note of support from none other than Sir Richard Branson.

“The amount of people who’ve messaged me since we began, talking about their own journeys, has been humbling,” says Liam.

“I just want to continue helping people navigate their own mental health journey.”

“If sharing my story helps just one person feel less alone, then it’s all worth it.”

The Shared Minds Podcast is available on major platforms, including Spotify and Apple
