Shannon Noll to perform live at ARN’s Save Our Pub grand reopening
Shannon Noll is joining Christian O’Connell’s Save Our Pub campaign, with the Aussie music legend to perform live at the grand reopening of The Criterion Hotel in Helidon, Queensland this Friday, June 26.
Shannon will take to the stage as part of a special broadcast on the GOLD Network, delivering some of his biggest crowd-favourite hits for locals and listeners.
Noll will also perform Horses as a special tribute to Australian music icon Daryl Braithwaite following his retirement announcement yesterday.
The performance is set to be a highlight of the pub’s grand reopening celebrations, with support continuing to pour in from listeners, tradies and well-known Australians determined to help breathe new life into the historic venue.
This latest announcement follows news that former NRL premiership player and Selling Houses Australia landscaper Dennis Scott is leading a major makeover of the venue’s outdoor space ahead of Friday’s grand reopening.
Led by the GOLD Network’s The Christian O’Connell Show, Save Our Pub is a nationwide initiative celebrating the role local pubs play at the heart of Australian life, while providing practical support to venues under pressure.
The campaign is currently focused on The Criterion Hotel – one of the last remaining pubs in the region.
Since taking over the historic venue two years ago, owners Gary and Tracey have worked tirelessly to restore the pub whilst navigating significant personal and financial challenges.
Christian O’Connell said “This Friday is the grand reopening and we’re taking the whole show to Helidon. We wanted to make it something really special for the community, and when we asked listeners who should be part of it, one name came through loud and clear. To have Nollsy say yes and jump on board is huge.”
Shannon Noll said “I’ve seen the posts and my fans are blowing up so I’m going to come down and try to help you guys out at the Criterion Helidon Hotel on Friday. I’m going to come down and play some songs, maybe even a special cover. See you there.”
Listeners can follow the journey on The Christian O’Connell Show, airing 6-10am weekdays on GOLD101.7 in Sydney, and 6-9am on GOLD104.3 in Melbourne, GOLD DAB+ in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, and via the free iHeart app.
