SEN podcasts resonate with sport fans

Australia’s big appetite for sport shows no signs of waning, with Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) enjoying strong engagement across both its podcasts and live streaming platforms.

SEN topped the latest Triton Digital Australian Podcast Ranker for both consumption and downloads in this genre. It had nine of 40 sports podcasts in the Australian top 200, including the top two most downloaded sports podcasts: SEN Breakfast (1,141,101 downloads) and Whateley (611,551).

SEN says in April alone, its podcast network recorded a unique audience of 717,856, as well as 3,438,216 total downloads.

May saw a new record, with SEN’s unique audience of listeners growing to 812,404, amassing 3,774,328 downloads.

Live streaming is up across SEN and AFL platforms, while SEN Stadium – which gives fans a latency-free in-venue streaming experience – saw a 221% year-on-year growth in in-stadium minutes streamed during the first seven rounds of the 2025 AFL season.

SEN also recently implemented three simultaneous streams from State of Origin Game 1 – live from Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane – which were available across the SEN network, as well as on SEN Stadium and SEN Sync.

Craig Hutchison, CEO of SEN, said he’s thrilled that SEN’s podcasts and live sport streams are resonating with so many sports fans.

“These results are a testament to the passion of Australian sports fans and the hard work of our incredible content and broadcast teams. Whether it’s on-demand or live, SEN is committed to delivering the best sports experience in the country.”
