Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) continues to expand throughout the West Australian market, with SENSpirit Margaret River 1494am set to hit the airwaves towards the end of 2022.

Providing a dedicated station to one of Australia’s most popular destinations, the newly formatted frequency will deliver in depth sporting news and analysis to the Southwest region, in addition to music from the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

The station will have a strong WA focus, with programs including Gilly & Goss (with Adam Gilchrist and Tim Gossage), Nay for Breakfast (hosted by Naomi Pearce), The Late Breakfast with Nims Azoor, The Run Home with Hase & Marto (Paul Hasleby and Damian Martin) and Drive with Peter Vlahos all available via the frequency.

Listeners will also be able to enjoy all the sporting news from around Australia with universally popular programs SEN Breakfast (Garry Lyon and Tim Watson) and Whateley (Gerard Whateley) also broadcasting from the station.

SEN National Radio Director Sam Thompson says SENSpirit Margaret River 1494am will provide the best of both worlds for listeners who crave sporting content and the music they love.

“We know the passion West Australians have for sport, particularly their local teams. I have no doubt the content offered on SENSpirit Margaret River 1494am will resonate with listeners in the Southwest region.”

While SEN is welcoming one of rugby league’s most renowned names to its Queensland airwaves, with Mal Meninga joining SENQ 693am from August 15.

The Australian Test Coach will join Mornings with Ben Davis each Monday for a segment discussing all things rugby league, providing fans with an insight into the Kangaroos’ upcoming World Cup campaign in October.

Meninga is synonymous with rugby league in Australia, particularly Queensland and says he’s looking forward to joining SENQ 693am.

“It is an exciting time for sport in Queensland, especially with rugby league on the back of a thrilling State of Origin series win by the Maroons and now with the launch of SENQ 693am.”

“The NRL is entering the home stretch of the season and the finals series will soon be upon us, so it’s the perfect time to join Ben Davis on Mondays to chat all things league.

Jason Matthews, SEN Content Manager for QLD, says Meninga’s presence on SENQ 693am brings a level of authority to the network.

“Mal Meninga is an icon of Queensland sport and we are absolutely thrilled for SENQ 693am to be joined by one of the greatest ever to play the game.”

Mal Meninga joins Ben Davis for Mornings with Ben Davis from 10am AEST on SENQ 693am on Monday August 15 and streamed via the SEN App.
