Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has congratulated its Melbourne Breakfast host Garry Lyon on his induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

The AFL Hall of Fame celebrates individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on Australian Rules Football.

Since his retirement from footy, the former Demons captain has forged a long-lasting radio and television career, currently co-hosting SEN 1116am’s Breakfast program with fellow AFL great, Tim Watson.

In paying tribute to his on-air partner, Watson said “He was not only a great player for Melbourne, but also a great leader – and often through tough tumultuous times.”

“Beyond his playing days he has carved out a football media career that has seen him become one of the game’s most authoritative voices, and it is a privilege for me to work with him in that capacity on SEN.”

SEN CEO Craig Hutchison said “Garry’s induction into the AFL Hall of Fame is long overdue and richly deserved. He has been a giant of the game — as a player, a leader, and now as a broadcaster. We are incredibly proud to have Garry as part of the SEN family, and congratulate him on this prestigious honour.”

SEN Breakfast with Garry & Tim can be heard on SEN 1116am or via the SEN App from 6 to 9am AEST, Tuesday to Thursday.
