Scotty Masters returns to radio with Paul Holmes

After seven years away from the mic, Canberra radio personality Scotty Masters is making his return to radio on January 18th, joining old 2DayFM colleague Paul ‘Holmsey’ Holmes on Canberra’s 2CA.

Scotty left the industry in 2015 after a restructuring at then Today Canberra FM 104.7, now Hit 104.7, which left Scotty high and dry.

After leaving, Scotty started two businesses under Scott Masters Media that have kept him busy, but when he was recently asked to return to radio, initial hesitation revealed the passion that still burns for radio.

Speaking to Canberra City News, Scotty said, “I think seven years away from the game has given me a hunger to go back.”

“They contacted me back in October and asked the question. I thought about it for a week or two and did a list of pros and cons,” he said.

“I think it lit a bit of a fire in me and I figured I still had something to offer. So we agreed to a deal and here we go.”

Scotty was a fixture of Canberra radio in the past, hosting a highly-rated breakfast show on rival station, 104.7 for over 8 years.

Teaming up with Holmesy, the pair will work together to bring back the energy that saw them host a number-one rating Breakfast show on 2Day FM with Wendy Harmer.

Hear The Classic Breakfast with Holmsey & Scotty between 5:30-9:00am from Wednesday 18th January.
