SCA taps ex-triple j announcer Veronica Milsom for new podcast

Veronica Milsom is the latest former triple j announcer to land a podcast deal with Southern Cross Austereo (SCA).

Following the successful launch of All Day Breakfast with ex-Breakfast duo Matt & Alex earlier in 2020, Milsom is set for her own podcast, also out via PodcastOne Australia.

The former long-time host of triple j Drive with Lewis Hobba, Milsom’s new podcast is titled Zero Waste Baby, a comedy/diary-style podcast set to follow her mission to reduce her baby’s waste footprint.

“I’m a comedian, mother of two, and disgusting consumer of things I just do not need,” she said in the trailer.

“I decided raising a tiny human wasn’t hard enough, and that I should make the first three months even harder, by raising her without anything that goes into landfill.

“That means avoiding all disposable baby stuff to do my bit for the environment, so I can sleep at night… except of course I have a new born so I can’t actually sleep at night.”

Milsom teased that she’ll be joined by waste warriors, who’ll share tips and tricks to get through, and helping to minimise her two-year old’s toy collection.

That includes The Chaser’s Craig Reucassel, the host of ABC’s War On Waste.

“I’m in a mad panic about the state of the environment, and the world she’s going to have to live in,” Milsom concluded.

Milsom departed the public broadcaster at the start of 2020 to have her second child, who is now the focus of Zero Waste Baby.

Blimey, I remember her on the 92.9 street team. Man, I’ve missed so much since I left radio.
