SCA stations shine in Maryborough, Qld: Xtra Insights
SCA has dominated the first Xtra Insights survey in three years for Maryborough, Queensland – with Triple M Fraser Coast just nudging out Hit 101.9.
Triple M’s Andrew ‘Blandy’ Bland (main photo) just missed out on claiming top spot on Breakfast from the Hit Network team of Bronte and Lakey (from June 8-16) and Newcastle-based duo Jess & Rohan, after that date to the end of survey period, July 5.
The two SCA stations held more than 50% of the listening audience overall. On Breakfast that figure was closer to 60%.
Blandy was up 6.4 to 28.7% preferred on Breakfast, with Hit down 1.3 to 30.7%.
24,000 people are tuning into Triple 103.5 Fraser Coast now each week, which is up 50%.
Phil Bradley, Head of Triple M Regional Content said “Driven by our hyper local approach, Triple M Fraser Coast has had an outstanding result today. After more than 30 years on Breakfast, Blandy continues to be at the heart of the Fraser Coast community, whether it’s supporting locals through initiatives like Helping Hand, giving away thousands of dollars in free fuel, or connecting with listeners at events like the Hervey Bay Fishing Classic. That genuine connection is reflected in today’s results, with Triple M returning to the Number 1 station (27.5%, up 5.7 points) and delivering exceptional growth across key audiences.”
“It’s especially pleasing to see more people choosing Triple M each week, with audience growth of 50%. We thank our amazing local audience as Triple M grows audiences, celebrated alongside the fact more people are choosing commercial radio on the Fraser Coast.”
Hit 101.9 Fraser Coast was the station most listened to among the 25 to 54s, with 43,300 tuning in each week (up 11%).
Jase Allen, Head of Hit Regional Content said “We’re pleased to see the Hit Network maintain its strong presence in today’s Maryborough survey, especially across the ‘Audience That Matters’ – People 25-54 – where the Fraser Coast team is the Number 1 station ‘listened to most’ in the demo. We’re particularly encouraged to see continued audience growth in Breakfast, Mornings with Abbey Fidge, Afternoons, and capped off by a great Number 1 result in Drive by Carrie & Tommy.”
“These results are also fantastic for the broader radio industry, demonstrating that commercial radio remains a powerful way to connect communities across regional Australia. Thank you to our listeners, clients, and our passionate Fraser Coast team for making today’s result possible.”
