SCA & MCM react to recent events

The recent tragic events surrounding the murder of Jill Meagher has seen Melbourne based MCM Media and Southern Cross Austereo's FOX and Triple M assist their staff to feel more safe around their workplace.

'Mumbrella' report that SCA are giving staff the chance to do self defence classes.

SCA’s new Melbourne GM Cathy Thomas said…

“The safety of our team members is a major priority – not just for myself, but for the entire management team here at Southern Cross Austereo. We’ve got an incredibly dedicated team, and we’re committed to ensuring their safety in and around the office.”

“In light of the recent events and to bolster skills and confidence, in particular for the girls in our team, we’re in the process of organising a series of self-defence classes with the team from Fusion Martial Arts for our Melbourne office."

MCM Media have also revealed plans to increase security.

Group Content Director Sam Thompson says…

“Jill’s death affected all of Melbourne. It also prompted us to look at the security of our building and request a number of changes to the carpark area."
