Staff Writer

Todd Sampson, from ABC TV’s Gruen Transfer, has been appointed to the Fairfax Media board.

He will replace the retiring director Sam Morgan, who had served on the board for six years.

Sampson describes himself as an adventurer, writer and producer.

He has appeared on TV’s Redesign My Brain, The Project and Gruen Planet and is the CEO of the Australian arm of Leo Burnett, a global advertising firm.

Fairfax chairman Roger Corbett has told media Sampson is a valuable addition to the board.

"We believe that he will bring a deep knowledge of media, marketing, advertising and digital transformation to our board," he said in a statement.

"He will also bring his commercial success as the national CEO of Leo Burnett, one of Australia's most successful communication companies."
