Ryan Jon departs Hit92.9 Breakfast, replaced by Pete Curulli

Former Assistant Editor

Hit92.9 Breakfast presenter Ryan Jon has called an end to his time at the Perth radio station.

He’ll be replaced by Pete Curulli, who currently hosts The Rush Hour on sister station Mix 94.5.

Ryan has co-hosted the Heidi, Xavier & Ryan show since 2018, but now he’s decided to move to be closer to family.

Ryan recently got engaged to his girlfriend Bridgette Rodda, who is a winemaker in regional Victoria, and Ryan is moving to move to be with her.

“I’ve spoken (and shed many tears) on the show about Brigette and I struggle to start a family and without going into the full birds and bee’s chat, living apart certainly hasn’t helped,” he said.

“Since our engagement and the body clock continuing to tick, Brigette and I believe living together again was the most important thing for us.”

“I know this decision certainly wasn’t easy for Ryan, but the burden of distance can be incredibly tough to maintain, and while Ryan will most definitely be missed by the entire team here, we can’t wait to see him thrive with Brigitte back by his side,” said Hit92.9 content director Tim Arnold.

“Pete recently did a short fill-in spot with Heidi & Xavier, and the fun that came out of the speakers was infectious. It’s incredibly exciting to have Pete return to the station he got his start at years ago.”

Pete got his start at SCA Perth as a street teamer, and will join Heidi & Xavier from Monday, July 29.

“My life is here, my whole family is here, I love Perth, it’s my home and the most exciting thing is getting to do a brekky show for the home team,” added Pete.

All the very best Ryan, I know you will do so well in whatever path you choose next. I have a feeling that portraying your best life through strategically packaged emotional content will never be far away from you. I hope you take to Instagram in a big way. Best wishes.

Ryan and Tanya will be back together somewhere in 2020. Donā€™t know why SCA ever split them up. They probably have no idea what they had.

Good Luck to Pete

Pete has jumped from a sinking ship. Mix in Perth has been on decline for some time now with 96 back in play will decline further and hit single figures.
