Ricki-Lee opens up about adapting to brekky radio on Nova’s Jase & Lauren

Newly-announced Nova Sydney Breakfast co-host Ricki-Lee has opened up about the reality of adapting to brekky radio hours – after joining her network colleagues Jase & Lauren on Melbourne’s Nova 100 this morning.

Having switched over from Drive, Ricki-Lee revealed she’s been doing some preparations to help her cope with the early starts.

“Yeah, no, I take my work seriously. I don’t like getting up in the morning in life, but if it’s for work, of course, of course.”

“But I’ve slowly been preparing my body. I went away to Europe for the Christmas holidays. And the good thing is, when I came back, I was naturally waking up at 4am.”

“I’ve kind of stayed in that zone, which is kind of wonderful.”

As to how her co-host Tim Blackwell might fare with Breakfast radio hours, Ricki-Lee said “Oh, he’s fine. I mean, this guy, he needs to be studied. He barely sleeps. He doesn’t care about sleep. He doesn’t need sleep. He’s just a freak of nature. And I’m so jealous of that, because I’m a real sleeper. I need a lot of sleep, otherwise, I’m a horrible person.”

Jase & Lauren can be heard from 6am to 9am on Nova 100 in Melbourne. Listeners can stream the show live or catch up with the daily podcast by downloading the Nova Player.
