Regional Radio Survey Spotlight: Dubbo

Staff Writer

The second of 20 regional radio surveys has been released today, with Dubbo in NSW the next market.

It’s the first survey in over ten years and 2DU is the market leader most listened 10 plus with 28.6%. Star FM was number 2 with 25.2%. And in the distance was ZOO FM with a 14.1% slice of the market.

You can view the full results below.

Star FM dominates any demo under 39, and anyone over 40 it is 2DU’s space.

2DU leads breakfast with an even 30% and Star FM 25.1%. You then see 2DU take mornings and Nights with Arvos and Drive to Star.

“The aim of the surveys is to focus attention on the role played by commercial radio in regional Australia, and highlight how radio can be used effectively to reach people in diverse communities,”said Joan Warner, CEO of Commercial Radio Australia.

The survey from Xtra Research involved more than 800 respondents and was conducted from February 8-27.

Commercial Radio Australia announced earlier this year that radio surveys will be held in 20 key regional centres, as part of a move to put regional radio in the spotlight. Other markets to be surveyed this year include Bendigo, Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Bunbury and Townsville.
