You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere (#YGSS) is the new podcast hosted by radio and TV presenter, Rachel Corbett, that takes you behind the scenes of show business to prove there’s no such thing as an overnight success.

In the first episode, Rachel interviews Michael Wipfli, one-half of Nova 969’s breakfast show, Fitzy & Wippa.

Wippa worked his way up from the bottom of the industry, recording a demo at the ‘Gary Mac School of Radio’ that eventually landed him his first gig as the breakfast announcer at 5AU in Port Augusta.

From those humble beginnings, Wippa has gone on to host a number of shows across the country, eventually landing his dream gig hosting breakfast in the biggest radio market in Australia.

In this episode, Wippa talks about how a ‘magic box’ got him his first job in radio, why he was sacked as Hamish & Andy’s panel operator, the lengths he goes to for his ideas, why he didn’t get along with Bruce Willis and what he has planned for the future.
