Radio weighs in on Macklemore’s SSM-focused performance at NRL Grand Final

Radio is known for a platform where the hottest debates of the day are carried out, and the recent focus on the addition of Macklemore‘s same-sex marriage anthem to his setlist for the NRL Grand Final is no different.

2BG’s Erin Molan spoke to hit 106.9 Newcastle’s breakfast team Nick and Sophie with Simon Baggs yesterday, stating that her preference be on what’s happening on the field rather than off it.

Meanwhile, over on Ash London LIVE, Ricki Lee stated that there is no reason that Macklemore shouldn’t be performing ‘Same Love’ at Sunday’s sporting event.

“He wrote that song from his heart and with so much love, why wouldn’t they want to be heard?,” she said.

“For so many people, it is import to speak out on these pivotal issues in our country.”
