Colac also has a pair of commercial stations, MIXX FM and 3CS, broadcasting to a 10+ population of 48,000.

MIXX FM remained dominant in Colac, despite slipping to 24% (-7.5) overall for People 10+. 3CS holds 13.3% (-2.7) of the audience while ABC Radio faired better with 15.8% (-2.8).

The surveys were conducted between July 16 and August 4 by Xtra Insights.

“Commercial radio has played a big part in the development of regional Victoria, with 3SH broadcasting since 1931 and 3CS on air since 1939,” said CRA chief executive Joan Warner.

“The stations are committed to providing local news and play a big role in supporting local events and causes.”
