Radio puts its breast foot forward

Staff Writer

In late June a number of Perth media celebrities will abseil down the tallest building in the Western Australian capital, Central Park, to raise awareness for breast cancer. The event is part of 'Purple Bra Day'.

Lisa Shaw from Mix 94.5 will be taking part, although not abseiling, she will be providing 'moral support'. However, Mix 94.5 announcer Shane McFarlane will take the plunge and abseil down the building.

Also abseiling will be Perth television presenters Narelda Jacobs and Michael Schultz, along with Sunday Times journo Brad Elborough.

Lisa Shaw said "I highly doubt there would be a single person who has not been affected by cancer". All money raised through Purple Bra Day will remain in Western Australia.

The radio connection doesn't end with the participants. The CEO of Breast Cancer WA is Donna Rendell, former Promotions and Marketing gun with 92.9 Perth, and Nova 100 Melbourne.
