Poorly drawn pets: Clairsy & Lisa’s feel-good fundraiser with a twist
As well as being breakfast radio co-hosts, Clairsy & Lisa from Perth’s 96FM are also animal lovers.
Keen to get some much-needed donations rolling in for local animal welfare organisation Cat Haven, they were after a feel-good fundraiser … with a twist.
And so, Clairsy & Lisa’s Poorly Drawn Pets was born.

Listeners were promised that, if they sent in a photo of their dog, cat, goat, horse or fish – and donated at least $10 to Cat Haven – Clairsy & Lisa would draw a portrait of their pet. Poorly.
Artistically challenged, Clairsy & Lisa sought advice from a friend of the show, comedian Jon Pinder.
Jon – who works as a tattoo artist on the side – gave them a few pointers on how to draw an animal.
The results speak for themselves.

Along the way, the brekky duo also convinced local celebrities like Elliot Yeo from the West Coat Eagles, Hayden Young from the Dockers and Adrian ‘Barra’ Barich from Channel 7 to show off their (also rather questionable) artistic talents.
Clairsy & Lisa even roped in WA Premier Roger Cook to draw a cat named Mr. Catalina Cee Cee Fanta Pants (see portrait above).
Suffice to say, the fundraiser has been a huge hit, having raised over $2,000 in just a few weeks, all of which goes to Cat Haven.
The ARN station says listeners have been coming into the radio station to pick up their portraits and have been truly excited to receive them, with one lady even tearing up when she saw the drawing of her cat.
Some of the portraits are being framed and given pride of place in people’s homes.
In the tradition of one particular beloved Aussie movie, one even went straight to the pool room.
Lisa has even started signing the portraits under ‘Shawsy’ as an ode to legendary street artist Banksy.
