Talk Radio’s future – Paul Henry lands

Staff Writer

Finally, after announcing their plans last year, Paul Henry landed on TV, Radio and mobile screens this morning across NZ.

The Paul Henry Breakfast Show leverages MediaWorks TV, Radio and digital assets in one go each morning through TV3,  RadioLIVE and a live stream on paulhenry.co.nz  from 6am to 9am.

MediaWorks says it’s the true cross-platform talk and entertainment program going nationwide in NZ. The line-up with Paul includes 3News and RadioLIVE presenter Hilary Barry as News anchor, newcomer Perlina Lau as social media presenter and Jim Kayes to cover sport.

The question is, are they listeners or viewers?

Anyway, most seemed to be fairly happy with what they heard, or is that saw this morning and some gave feedback on the first show and format.

MediaWorks don’t seem to like sharing their video’s online too easily, so you can click the image below to launch a sample of one of today’s segments featuring Paul Henry and newcomer Perlina Lau their social media presenter.

“You are heading for great things and you are starting with me”, said Paul Henry to Perlina (went right over her head).

It didn’t take long for Paul to have a dig at topics including the Bali Nine.

“They have bloody granted what they deserve, haven’t they”, said Paul.
