oOh!media gives prostate cancer awareness a prime spot on the Sunny Coast
The Noosa Prostate Association (NPA) has teamed up with oOh!media to deliver a powerful new awareness campaign across Sunshine Coast shopping centres, supported by NPA sponsors Hot 91.1 and Zinc 96.1.
The bold ‘Get him tested today’ message encourages men to take a simple blood test for prostate cancer, with ad space donated by oOh!

Former Austereo Group Program Director Greg Smith serves on the NPA committee.
Having worked with Cathy O’Connor for many years at Austereo, Smith reached out to the outgoing oOh!media CEO about the possibility of running a campaign on the Sunshine Coast, utilising the company’s digital panels.
It was all systems go!

The thinking behind the campaign is: When the message is this important, you don’t need fancy targeting or click-through rates, just a bloody good reminder.
“The ads will save men’s lives,” said Ian Miller, Chair of the NPA. “Early testing saves lives. It’s just a blood test. We’re incredibly grateful to oOh! for making this campaign possible.”
With 29,000 Australian men expected to be diagnosed this year and 4,000 lives lost, the campaign is a timely reminder that sometimes, the simplest media placement can make the biggest difference.
It’s also proof that when the industry gives back, it’s lifesaving.

Wow, that’s more men being diagnosed with prostate cancer than women diagnosed with breast cancer or ovarian cancer in a year! It should receive this and more support. Excellent project.
