One Direction on B105

Staff Writer

One Direction head to New Zealand this week after what can only be described as an incredibly successful short tour of Australia.

Sony CEO Denis Handlin told Radio Today:

‘We had high expectations in the lead up to the first Australian visit. The frenzy surrounding the visit has delivered massive TV ratings for interviews and performances from the band, and on numerous occasions the band’s visit was a worldwide trending topic on twitter"

"the album ‘Up All Night’ has been #1 on the ARIA Albums chart for the past two weeks and the band are now household names to people of all ages throughout Australia"

The band's last stop in Australia has been Brisbane, where they appeared on the B105 Breakfast show in what was billed as a 'no restrictions' interview – and certainly the content at times reflected that.
