NSW Opposition Leader threatens to remove Alan Jones from SCG Trust

Staff Writer

NSW Opposition Leader Michael Daley has told Alan Jones in no uncertain terms that he intends to sack him from the SCG Trust Board.

Daley spoke with Jones on his 2GB Breakfast show about his plans not to rebuild Allianz Stadium.

Jones grilled Daley about the plan, citing independent reports that suggest the stadium isn’t safe in its current state.

Daley contested the SCG Trust isn’t telling the truth about the real risks.

“That’s one of the reasons Alan why I’m going to sack the board,” said Daley.

“If I’m elected, the board will go. I know you’ve been on that board for 30 years.”

Jones responded; “Yeah, we do the job for nothing, don’t worry, we don’t mind.”

“The board will go,” said Daley. “It will be sacked. I’m sorry about the SCG Trust Board, thanks for your service.”
