Nova’s Red Room Global Tour treats winners to the rockstar experience

Nova’s Red Room Global Tour has hit the halfway mark with winners continuing to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience, travelling from LA, Rhode Island, Las Vegas and then New York.

The fourth annual Nova’s Red Room Global Tour, presented Mazda3, kicked off Sunday night with 28 winners from around the country meeting at The Star Sydney for a cocktail function to get to know their travelling companions for the next 12 days.

First stop, LA! Arriving at Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood on Monday morning, the “red” theme continued, with the tour group enjoying their first team dinner at the popular Red O Mexican restaurant.

The winners’ first Nova’s Red Room experience kicked off on Tuesday with winners enjoying drinks and spending time with Katy Perry in a special experience at the iconic Capitol Records studios in LA.

Having just flown the night before Katy was amazed at the experience the winners were about to take part in, the destinations they would be travelling to and the artists they were going to see. Winners were delighted when she spent time with each of them, asking questions about their lives and how they’d come to win their spot on the tour during the meet and greet.

Katy was particularly enamoured with Aleisha from Sydney, who’d paid homage to the pop star by dressing in hot pants and a cupcake bra top, and received a hug in appreciation.

Smallzy interviewed Katy Perry and discussed her upcoming tour of Australia, her new album and how her parents feel about some of the lyrics. The full interview will be heard tonight on Smallzy’s Surgery from 7pm on the Nova Network.

The Chainsmokers in Rhode Island

In true rockstar style, the winners then headed to Rhode Island for their Nova’s Red Room with The Chainsmokers at Dunkin Donuts Arena on Wednesday. The winners were given a backstage tour, with Alex and Drew from the group meeting up with them before the show.

The Chainsmokers performed their biggest hits including Paris and Closer, along with giving them a sneak peek at some new singles. Afterward the winners celebrated at a local pub before going back to the arena for The Chainsmokers stadium show that night in front of a sold-out crowd.

After their Nova’s Red Room performance, Smallzy chatted to Alex and Drew about their plans to tour Australia. The full interview with The Chainsmoker’s will air on Smallzy’s Surgery this Tuesday night from 7pm on the Nova Network.

Calvin Harris in Las Vegas

Next stop was Las Vegas, with the tour group arriving early evening and checking into the luxurious The Palazzo Hotel for the next three days.

Day 5 of Mazda3 presents Nova’s Red Room Global Tour saw the winners exploring the sights, outlet stores, bars, restaurants, and night life of Las Vegas. Friday night was spent enjoying a team dinner at one of Las Vegas’ hottest bars and restaurants, Lavo.

On Saturday winners attended one of the most dynamic and unforgettable Nova’s Red Room experiences with Calvin Harris enjoyed from VIP marquees at the Wet Republic and a meet and greet with the hottest DJs in the world. The night was made extra special for newly-engaged couple Clive and Mikayla, who were among the group of winners.

Miley Cyrus in New York

The winners once again departed for New York, arriving at The Roxy Hotel in Tribeca late on Sunday night. They’ll have four days to explore one of the most exciting cities in the world and will experience their final overseas Nova’s Red Room, with Miley Cyrus, before heading back to Sydney for the last gig of the global tour – Nova’s Red Room with Peking Duk at The Star Sydney on Saturday 17 June.
