Nova’s Greg Burns is ready to make you giggle

To celebrate the launch of this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Nova 100 has planned a number of events that will take place throughout the festival.

Nova 100’s breakfast trio Chrissie, Sam & Browny will launch the event with a live broadcast from Melbourne Town Hall. The team will showcase over 30 comedy shows that feature a host of well-known comedians including Tom Gleeson, Joel Creasey and Dave O’Neil.

And there’s more – the Best of the Edinburgh Fest will feature Nova’s British import Greg Burns, who will appear alongside two top international comedians at The Forum Theatre and Melbourne Town Hall.

Burns, Radio Today has learned this afternoon, is a successful comedian back home in the UK. And we’ve found a video to prove it.

Nova and ahm health insurance will also present a Hits and Giggles comedy gala event in April, also featuring Burns. Listeners can win tickets by heading over to Nova’s website or listening to Nova 100.

The station is bringing comedy to the streets of Melbourne with Comedy Kombi, putting on free pop-up comedy gigs across the city’s suburbs.

“We love this time of year and are delighted to again partner with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival,” said Peter Colosimo, general manager of NOVA Entertainment in Melbourne.

“This partnership is one of our most rewarding and longstanding relationships and gives us the opportunity to provide listeners and clients access to some of the most talented, established and up and coming, comedians around the country.”

The station’s partnership with the festival has been running for over a decade, which officially returns from next Wednesday.
