Nova’s Tim Blackwell kicks off new season of Game Changers: Radio

Staff Writer

Craig Bruce‘s popular podcast Game Changers: Radio has returned for a fourth season.

The first episode features Tim Blackwell (below) who has enjoyed a constant presence on Nova since its inception in 2001.

Blackwell played a key role in the launch of Nova Melbourne and Nova Perth, anchoring breakfast shows in both markets.

In 2011 he moved into the national drive slot with Meshel Laurie and Marty Sheargold. He now hosts Nova’s national drive show, Kate, Tim & Marty.

Talking to Radio Today on the premiere is this year’s first episode that features Blackwell, Bruce said he thinks this season might be the best thus far.

“We’ve got the three biggest names from the last 25 years of Brisbane FM breakfast radio-Jamie Dunn, Ash Bradnam and Robin Bailey. Wendy Harmer is a true radio icon; it’s an absolute thrill to be able to share her story.

“We talk to Andy Lee on the eve of the final year of Hamish and Andy and right now you can download my interview with the guy who is universally recognised as the best music announcer in the country, who is now starring on the national drive show, Tim Blackwell.

Game Changers: Radio launched in April last year and has repeatedly been in the Top 100 Australian podcasts. Previous content has seen Bruce interview Eddie McGuire, Mick Molly, Amanda Keller, Tony Martin and more.
