Nova creates hub for fans to access old Red Room performances

Staff Writer

Music fans can now access archived Nova Red Room performances via Nova’s Red Room Unlocked.

To fully unlock the archived performances, consumers will need to download the Nova Player, which the broadcaster described as a “seamless, on-demand and centralised location for audiences to access, explore and enjoy the breadth of content available” across NOVA Entertainment’s assets.

Nova’s Red Room has played host to over 260 shows across nine years.

The Unlocked offering will launch with Ed Sheeran’s performance at the Sydney Opera House from 2017, while performances from Lorde at Cockatoo Island, Coldplay in Manchester, the Jonas Brothers in LA, Sam Smith at the Opera House and Shawn Mendes in LA are in the pipeline.

NOVA Entertainment’s chief programming & marketing officer, Paul Jackson, said he can’t wait to open the vault.

“Over the past nine years we’ve created some really unique and special Nova Red Room moments, allowing fans to connect with their favourite performers,” he said. “Each experience is set in venues matched to the artist, from the Sydney Opera House, to converted churches as well as iconic music venues around the world, and we can’t wait to open the vault to Nova’s Red Room Unlocked and allow all music fans to enjoy these moments.”

Such a shame that Nova have let Red Room whither on the vines. Likely the unlocked performances will be performances like guy Sebastian and not the big artist events.
This is what happens when there’s no $ to invest in the things that made the stations what it used to be
