Nova Entertainment’s Brendan Taylor on GfK Survey 5: “I’m really proud of our teams”

With a 6.3 million network cume and strong performances in key markets, GfK Survey 5 returned some very pleasing results for Nova Entertainment.

In an interview our sister publication Radioinfo, the network’s Group PD Brendan Taylor says “I’m really proud of the teams, really proud of the product teams and programming teams that build and are involved in the product.”

Taylor says a lot of time and effort has gone into Nova’s Sydney Breakfast show over recent survey periods.

“We’re really pleased to have Kate Ritchie as part of the show,” he says.

“As I keep explaining to them, we have the audience. It’s now about refining the product, making sure we’re having the right connection with the audience, delivering the right content.”

Taylor says the Nova Drive team of Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel have settled in well.

“The chemistry between all three is fantastic.”

Taylor stresses that support around all of the network’s shows is super important.

“That goes for The Chrissie Swan Show all the way through to Smallzy,” he says.

While Brisbane FM Breakfast is a tight race, Taylor is full of praise for the Nova team of Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill.

“They’re just a great show to work with.”

Taylor notes the promotion surrounding Susie’s recent world record swim really drove home the Brekky team’s connection with its listeners.

Of the extraordinary audience share enjoyed by Nova Perth’s Nat, Nathan and Shaun, Taylor says “The 22.5 share is incredible. And from an overall station point of view – 18.1 – it’s just outstanding.”

“It’s Nathan’s 20th year. They’ve done great promotions. They’ve done great content. There’s a real connection with the Perth audience.”
