Nova 96.9’s Sarah McGilvray announces engagement on air

Fitzy & Wippa co-host Sarah McGilvray had a big announcement for Nova 96.9 listeners this morning.

She revealed to listeners that her long-term partner ‘Gary’ (an old roommate of Wippa’s) had proposed and that she’s now engaged.

Wippa was part of the planned surprise last Friday, where Sarah thought she was meeting Wippa, Gary and Tommy at Rockpool in Melbourne, the night of the NOVA Entertainment Awards.

“I got there and i’ve been stood up by two of my mates,” she said. “We weren’t going for a team lunch were we?

“Gary happened to look very, very nervous, he had a certain question for me. [Now] Gary and I are engaged!”

Sarah kept it a secret until Monday when she surprised Fitzy and listeners.
