Nova 106.9’s live hospital broadcast to raise funds for kids in need

Staff Writer

Nova 106.9 has launched its second ‘Nova’s Bids To Save Sick Kids’, with the team to conduct a silent auction during a live broadcast from the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The auction will raise funds for children in need for the 2019 Nine Telethon, as part of Nova 106.9’s partnership with Nine Queensland and the Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland.

After helping raise over $77,000 in 2018, Nova is hoping to go better this year, and bids can now be made at novabids.com.au

There are a stack of fantastic silent auction items including a Hyundai Kona Active up for grabs, and all proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation by Nova’s Ash, Kip, Luttsy and Susie, on the night of the 2019 Nine Telethon.

Bidding closes at 4pm, Friday November 15.

“It’s a humbling and inspiring opportunity to be involved in this community event which benefits Queensland families facing some pretty tough challenges, our Children’s Hospital, and the incredible people who work there,” said Nova 106.9 PD Jay Walkerden.

“We’re looking forward to playing our part in helping Nine to raise as much money as possible for the Children’s Hospital Foundation and supporting Queensland families when they need it most.”

Nine Queensland MD Kylie Blucher added; “Nova’s Bids to Help Sick Kids is a fantastic initiative to raise funds for such an important cause. We are thrilled to partner again with Nova and the Children’s Hospital Foundation to strengthen donations for the 2019 Nine Queensland Telethon.”

“We’d thrilled to partner with Nova Nova 106.9 again in 2019 for the second Nova’s Bids to Help Sick Kids,” said Rosie Simpson, the Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland CEO.

“It’s the support of partners like Nova that allows us to keep working wonders for Queensland’s sickest kids and their families. Together, we can help give all Queensland children the best care, treatments and outcomes.

“I am looking forward to seeing Queenslanders come together for Nova’s Bids to Help Sick Kids, and we can’t wait to see the final result on Telethon night.”

Susie O’Neill will also take on former Brisbane Bronco Corey Oates in a swimming contest, with all money going to the Nova’s Bids For Sick Kids campaign.

Susie vs Corey: The Bet
