Nick Allen-Ducat to depart the Hit Network’s Jess & Ducko show

Nick ‘Ducko’ Allen-Ducat has announced he will be leaving the Hit Network’s Jess & Ducko Breakfast show, heard across New South Wales.

Ducko will depart at the end of this year.

He’s promised listeners that, until then, there’ll still be plenty of laughs and fun with his good mate and co-host, Jess Farchione.

Broadcasting from SCA’s Newcastle studios, Ducko will continue to be heard alongside Jess on the show between 6 and 9am weekdays and also on LiSTNR until Friday, December 19.

Jess’ new co-host will be announced shortly.

Ducko said on-air this morning:

“This wasn’t an easy decision and it’s one that’s kept me up a lot at night in recent weeks – but sometimes opportunities come when you least expect it. I moved to Newy (Newcastle) and joined this show before COVID existed, not knowing a single person in town. I walk away married, with a beautiful daughter and friends for life. This town has embraced me… even though I’m a dirty, Broncos-supporting Queenslander! Ultimately, this is a decision I’ve made for my family. It’s going to be very hard to leave Jess, who I love as a friend, broadcaster, and colleague. To our core listeners – thank you. It’s been an honour and a privilege to do this show for the amazing people of NSW. I have loved working at Hit, and I have loved doing this show with Jess. I’ll miss it a lot.”

Jess said “I’m so grateful for the friendship and joy Ducko and I have shared over the past five years on air, it’s something I’ll never take for granted. Along with our listeners, we’ve laughed until we cried, supported each other through tough times, and truly become like family. I’m beyond happy for my friend as he steps into this exciting new chapter. It’s an incredible opportunity for him and his family, and I can’t wait to see him thrive. At the same time, I’m excited to welcome someone new to the team to share laughs, stories, and special moments with the gorgeous people of NSW.”

In GfK Survey 2 of 2025 for Newcastle, Jess & Ducko grew their share to 16.1% and were second in Breakfast behind SCA stablemates and Triple M veterans Tanya Wilks and Steve Graham.
