Newcastle Survey 2 released

The second survey for 2012 in Newcastle has been released.

It’s a case of one up, one down for the Southern Cross Austereo stations while still holding onto the #1 and #2 positions.

NXFM are up 0.1 to 19.0%, now giving them a 4 point lead over the nearest station, the other SCA station, KOFM. NXFM’s main gains came through under 24’s with a 6.6 increase in 10-17’s and 2.4 in 18-24’s

KOFM were the one’s to take the hit, now at 15.0% (down 2.6), down in every shift and every demo. No doubt a lot of focus will now turn to stopping their down trend.

2HD was the big gainer of the day, going from 9.4% to 12.4% (up 3.0) and going from 5th in the market to 3rd. Their main gains came from an 8.2 increase in 65+ and was the station to have significant increases in workday and nights.

New FM held steady at 8.8% and still find themselves way out of the game.

Triple J have gained slightly with a 10.9% result (up 0.2) and ABC Local Radio is on 10.2% (down 0.4), going from 4th to 5th in the market.
