New regional Content Directors for Hit and Triple M in NSW and WA

Reporter

New Content Director appointments have been announced for the West Australian and coastal NSW Hit and Triple M markets.

Erica McGee – currently Content Director of Mix94.5 in Perth – will become Bunbury and Southern WA Content Director for Hit and Triple M.

Erica has been Content Director at Mix 94.5 since 2014 and has led the station to an impressive 44 #1 survey results. She has a 30-plus year career in radio as an executive producer with Triple M Sydney’s The Grill Team, announcer with i98fm and Canberra FM, and as a journalist.

Stephanie Macfie – currently the Assistant Content Director for Hit 100.9 and 107.3 Triple M and Afternoons announcer on 107.3 Triple M in Hobart, has been promoted to Coastal NSW Content Director for the Central Coast’s Hit 101.3 and 107.7 Triple M.

Stephanie brings a wealth of on and off-air radio experience to her new role. She has worked as an announcer in Armidale and Launceston and was Breakfast show co-host for Star FM in Orange (now Hit 105.9). She then joined top-rating Hit 100.9 Hobart’s Breakfast show as Executive Producer and performed the same role with 107.3 Triple M’s Dave & Al Show and South Australia’s SAFM Breakfast show.

She was also part of SCA’s Women in Content Leadership program in 2022 and was mentored by Erica.

SCA Head of Content – Regional, Blair Woodcock says  “2023 was already looking like a stellar year, but now as we complete our team of regional CDs, it’s looking even stronger.”

“To have Erica join the regional team with her level of experience is simply amazing. And then on the other side of the country to have someone like Steph join in her first CD position is exciting. Steph’s been incredibly impressive in her time in Hobart and it’ll great to watch her grow in this position!”

Erica says “The nine years I have spent as Content Director at Mix94.5 have undoubtedly been the highlight of my professional and personal life. From working with Fred Botica and Lisa Shaw, to Dean Clairs, Kymba Cahill, Shane McFarlane, Matt Dyktynski and Pete Curulli – and not to mention an incredibly talented team both on and off air – it has literally been a joy to come to work each day. And now that my husband and I have chosen the cliched ‘sea-change’, I continue to be blessed by the opportunity I have as part of SCA, with our network of regional stations right around Australia, to continue working with our talented radio teams in the south-west of WA. I can’t wait.”

Of her new role, Stephanie says “As a woman in media, I am privileged to work for a company that invests in all staff. SCA has afforded me the opportunity to work from regional, provincial, and metro markets across the country and I am excited to be able to now call the glorious Central Coast home.  I am thrilled be working with the incredible talent of the Coastal NSW Hit and Triple M teams. I look forward to making a real impact, driving creative, dynamic content, and further engaging and growing Coastal NSW audiences.”

Erica will continue to work with Mix94.5 in Perth until she moves to the new role in mid-2023 and Stephanie’s appointment is effective from 16 January 2023.
