Mix 102.3’s Ali Clarke reveals cancer battle

Reporter

Mix 102.3 Adelaide Breakfast co-host Ali Clarke has announced she will be taking a break from the show, after revealing she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Just after 7 this morning Clarke, who co-hosts Max & Ali in the Morning with Max Burford, broke the news to listeners, saying “We’ve got this really, really early.”

“I know people listening right now will have lost people, or will have been going through it, or are maybe even going through this. I mean, I think we all know someone by now who has had a battle with cancer.”

Clarke became tearful as she revealed she would undergo a full mastectomy this week.

“I’ll have to take some time off to recover as you can imagine.”

It’s not yet confirmed who will take over Clarke’s role while she is away.

So sad to read this Ali. Best of luck with the next few months of fighting hard. Lean on those around you, take the time you need knowing you are so loved by your family, friends and listeners and they are all there for you x

Ali you are one amazingly tough cookie and you will totally smash this speed hump in life. Take time to focus on the things that count and healing not only your body but also your mental health. Please stay safe and positive, I look forward to hearing you back on the radio when you are ready, but don’t rush we will be patient, your health and beautiful family need to be number one focus.
