Mitch Fifield to speak at ACRA’s

Staff Writer

In news that is as welcome as it is unsurprising, the Communications Minister Senator Mitch Fifield will speak at this years National Commercial Radio Conference in Melbourne.

Last year, the Senator was new to the role and appeared via recorded video message, however he will speak in person this year.

Joan Warner, chief executive officer of Commercial Radio Australia said:

“In the May budget the Minister announced a 25% cut in radio licence fees to reflect an increasingly convergent world and earlier this year, streamlined the digital radio planning and license process. We look forward to his presentation at this year’s National Radio Conference.”

The National Radio Conference will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre on Friday, 7 October with more than 600 people attending from across Australia. Further conference speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The 28th annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards will follow on Saturday 8 October, also at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
