MG and Wally Lewis come together for Triple M State of Origin commentary

Mark ‘MG’ Geyer and Wally Lewis are heading up the Triple M commentary team for game two of the State of Origin this Wednesday, June 21, as the NSW Blues try to claw their way back into the competition after losing the first clash to the QLD Maroons

Former Origin great Gorden Tallis will be joining MG to kick things off from 6pm-7pm with Triple M’s Origin Rumble before Ben ‘Dobbo’ DobbinRyan Girdler and Dan Ginnane join the main card.

Despite having only played three State of Origin matches, Geyer is an iconic part of its history, having one of the most memorable on-field dust-ups with fellow Triple M commentator Wally Lewis.

It was an iconic moment, that drew comparison with the Bible’s tale of David vs Goliath, due to Geyer’s significant height advantage.

They come together once again, with no bad blood, as they sit in the commentary box for Triple M’s live Origin coverage which will be broadcast live from 6pm on Wednesday 21 June on all Triple M metro and regional stations in NSW and Queensland, as well as available to live stream on LiSTNR.

“Triple M NRL was a smash hit during game one State of Origin and the network’s expert commentary team pioneered a new soundtrack to the series across both NSW and Queensland. With listeners able to tune in via commercial FM radio or stream on LiSTNR. We’re excited to bring listeners even bigger and better NRL commentary this season as we call all the action for what is shaping up to be a huge NRL series,” said SCA Head of Sports Content, Ewan Giles.

Also, LiSTNR’s Footy Talk NRL podcast will feature an Origin preview on June 21 with hosts Aaron Woods, Wade Graham and Anthony Maroon
