Mason Tucker to finish up at KIIS at the end of the year
KIIS 101.1’s Workday announcer, Mason Tucker, has not had his contract renewed by Australian Radio Network (ARN).
The news comes in light of the announcement that Ryan Jon, currently covering KIIS Melbourne’s Summer Breakfast, will next year permanently take up the 9am to 3pm shift on the station.
Radio Today then contacted ARN to find out what this meant for Tucker, who has been with KIIS since April, 2019.
“Mason’s contract with ARN has ended. He will continue to be on air until December 30,” an ARN spokesperson said in response.
Tucker told Radio Today his next move is not yet clear, but he’ll be working hard to keep himself in the industry.
Prior to his time with ARN, Tucker was a Morning announcer and Breakfast producer at Hobart’s Hit100.9.
Because the workday guy is the main problem with that station. That should fix it!
The great man DB not really having any impact on this station in the last few years. Shows how much trouble they are in of Kyle and Jac ever left. He’s got nothing.
Kiss 101.1 is up there with the output, I don’t think Melbourne knows about it. Fox get 11/10 on billboards and tv for a once great station. @KIIS of death.. Mason should take heat for average numbers.
Mason going and KIIS going backwards. Evident by the current lame breakfast show.
Mason deserves better!
Are people in this thread aware that it’s Kiss Melbourne, not Sydney?
@ffs yes we’re aware. Are you aware DB is head CD for both KIIS stations ffs?
@Don why should he? He talks 4 times an hour for 20 seconds, so would have zero impact. I’d be looking at poor breakfast and drive figures, workday tactics, music and marketing before blaming the workday guy.
