Luke Grant to host 2GB Weekend Mornings
Luke Grant will step into Michael McLaren‘s recently vacated 2GB Weekend Mornings shift moving from Overnights, which he also took over from McLaren. Grant is also the regular fill-in host on The Ray Hadley Morning Show.
Grant said:
“The news cycle has no respect for weekends – there are new issues to cover and opinions to share every day of the week, so being able to do that with our 2GB listeners on Saturdays and Sundays is something I’m really looking forward to. I am going to miss my Overnights audience, but a new challenge awaits. Bring it on!”
2GB Content Manager, Luke Davis said:
“For many years, Weekend Mornings on 2GB has been appointment listening. That tradition will continue into 2024 with Luke Grant, who has proven himself as one of Australia’s most popular and versatile radio broadcasters.
Luke has an incredible ability to inform, entertain and surprise. From breaking news, to lighter entertainment and sometimes absolute irreverence, Luke is a master of his craft. He will make Saturday and Sunday mornings his own and will bring all the news, and a smile or two, to our loyal weekend listeners.”
Michael McLaren will host 2GB Afternoons from Monday 15 January 2024. Weekend Mornings with Luke Grant will premiere on Saturday 13 January 2024 from 9.00am-1.00pm.

Who will take over Overnights?
Great news congrats Luke you so deserved it as do Michael deserved it great move 2gb just can’t stand Melbourne guy on over nights give dale who works with Luke and works Xmas afternoon cheers
Don’t be surprised if they network the overnights from Melbourne like they have been this last week.
I won’t be listening. I gave up up tuning in over nights when I’m working. Luke Grant’s programs are full of right wing bias and the same old listeners who ring night after night are the same. Most boring radio. I only tune in when Clinton Maynard is running the show. At least he is a balanced presenter and does not appear to be up himself.
Saturday overnight with the Melb broadcaster in 2023 has been cringeworthy! Clinton Maynard does a fabulous job on overnights for those of us who need a quality program 7 nights a week – but not fair to offer him the week-night overnight slot at this point in his radio life as he has more than proved himself in many role. I trust 2GB has someone groomed ready to step into the week-night overnight slot who is not from Melbourne!
Congratulations Luke Grant, on being chosen as the new weekend morning host at 2gb which deserved well respected announcer and one of the gentlemen of Australian radio.

I live in Victoria, have always listened to 2GB, have never enjoyed 3AW, if the Melbourne broadcasters are used to cover nights, I won’t be listening .
Luke and Micheal did such a great job overnight the Melbourne guys are not the same they focus on Melbourne even the callers we need a local host I hope there are plans to have our Sydney programme back am so happy for grant and Michelle in there new roles
