Listening to Aussie radio just got a lot easier thanks to Siri

It was announced today that Australian radio lovers will now be able to ask Siri to tune into their favourite stations after RadioApp was updated to be compliant with Apple’s new Siri Shortcut feature.

Commercial Radio Australia chief executive officer, Joan Warner, said that the updated feature would encourage listeners to turn into more radio via non-traditional formats.

“We’re pleased to support the exciting new features offered by Siri Shortcuts to make the mobile listening experience even more streamlined,” she said.

“Listeners can now ask Siri to play any of the 280 Australian radio stations on the app straight from the lock screen.

“Listeners who use Apple CarPlay will also be able to ask Siri to play or change radio stations in RadioApp hands-free while driving, providing a relaxing and safe driving experience.”

Siri Shortcuts will learn from users listening habits, eventually suggesting other shortcuts based on users frequency habits.

RadioApp was launched in late 2016 to allow listeners to live stream commercial, ABC, SBS and DAB+ digital radio stations. In July of this year, it was updated to be made compatible with Chromecast and Google smart TVs.
