Grant Broadcasters LAFM and Chilli 90.1 in Launceston have raised nearly $27,000 for Tasmania’s Bushfire victims in a 12-hour appeal today from 6am-6pm.

General Manager Colin Taylor said; “The generosity of Tassie people never ceases to amaze me. Listeners and the business community have donated $26,905 today and demonstrated that in tough times they are willing to dig deep and help their fellow Tasmanians".

"We have uncovered some amazing stories today of everyday people going to extraordinary lengths to provide assistance to those in need, it truly is a humbling experience.”

“It is also one of those days that you love being in radio….I am justifiably proud of the efforts of our entire crew who have worked tirelessly keeping listeners informed of current fire alerts and situations along with throwing their full weight and passionate attitudes behind this worthy cause.”

LAFM and Chilli will continue to accept donations on behalf of the Red Cross Bush Fire appeal and plan to raise further funds at the Chilli Skyfire display on Australia Day Eve January 25th.
